Neustar Commends the U.S. Government for Encouraging Public-Private Partnerships to Meet Cyber Security Challenges

Washington, DC, February 22, 2012 –  Neustar, Inc., (NYSE: NSR), a trusted, neutral provider of real-time information and analysis to the Internet, telecommunications, entertainment, advertising and marketing industries, commends  the U.S. Government for its leadership in working with the private sector to ensure the security, reliability, and resiliency of the Nation’s communications systems.  

At a forum on “Cyber Security:  New Models for the Future” hosted by the Bipartisan Policy Center (BPC), government officials and industry representatives discussed the importance of public-private partnerships in protecting our Nation’s digital infrastructure. 

Coinciding with the BPC’s forum, Dr. Mark Bregman, Neustar’s  Chief Techology Officer, said:  “I applaud the U.S. Government for its leadership in tackling the cybersecurity challenges facing our country today.  The explosion of interconnected devices and the global reach and connectivity of the Internet has created exponentially new, evolving and complex security challenges to our economic and national security.  We are pleased that the U.S. Government is spurring the private sector to find solutions to the cyber security challenges we face together.” 

Dr. Bregman continued:  “Neustar is proud to join in this public-private sector effort as a member of the Administration’s National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee and the Federal Communications Commission’s Communications, Security, Reliability and Interoperability Council.  We look forward to continuing to work with policymakers to address today’s cyber security challenges.”
