My Digital Life is an online, in-school digital literacy program designed for eighth and ninth graders. In partnership with EverFi, an organization that produces highly respected online education programs, Neustar offers this program free of charge to every school district in Virginia, Kentucky, and California, three of our corporate homes, with plans to expand the program to other communities where we’re located.
This intensive training program provides low-income adults ages 18-24 with a combination of hands-on skill development, college credits, and corporate internships. Since we became involved, we’ve had Year Up 11 interns, three of whom we hired full-time.
In the CyberWatch Mid-Atlantic Collegiate Cyber Defense (CCDC) competition, students from regional colleges try to protect networks from a team of hackers.
The George Washington University’s Teachers in Industry Project lets middle and high school teachers get a taste of the work environment for which they’re preparing students. Neustar has offered four-day “externships” to STEM teachers at our Sterling, Virginia campus.
The Anita Borg Institute for Women in Technology was created to develop women technology leaders. We’re an annual presence at the Institute’s Grace Hopper Celebration event, the world’s largest gathering of women technologists, named after a pioneering U.S. Navy Rear Admiral and computer scientist.
