In the weeks and months ahead, federally mandated E9-1-1 and 9-1-1 deadlines will occur. Leading up to those, VoIP providers and vendors are and will be besieged with offers of advice, guidance and services/products to help them comply.

Co-hosting the VoIP E9-1-1 Solution Summit are two organizations, VON Coalition and NENA, committed to helping any and all VoIP providers meet their E9-1-1 and 9-1-1 obligations correctly.

The VoIP E9-1-1 Solution Summit addresses the various aspects of FCC 05-116, First Report and Order and Notice of Proposed Rulemaking, establishing E9-1-1 and 9-1-1 requirements and deadlines while seeking input for future proceeding.

Primarily intended for VoIP providers and their vendors, this one-day summit will be highly interactive. Questions and attendee input are strongly encouraged throughout the day's sessions.

Panels include regulatory, interconnection, legislative, E9-1-1 solution vendors, and VoIP providers. The luncheon keynote speaker will be FCC Commissioner Kathleen Abernathy.

By day's end, attendees will have received considerable guidance and advice. Our organizations will have identified a number of issues needing additional attention. We will have determined where the industry and 9-1-1 entities should be working together to move forward.
