Corporate Social Responsibility

Neustar understands that our corporate community encompasses more than just our customers, employees and shareholders. We believe in an expansive stakeholder view that adheres to the ideals of respecting, understanding, and sustaining the communities around the world in which we operate. Our commitment to responsible corporate citizenship includes a focus on the environment, ethical corporate behavior, community involvement and industry participation.

Our Corporate Social Responsibility program is employee-driven: created by the employees, for our customers, shareholders, communities, and for Neustar. It reflects our culture.

We search for simple and innovative programs and ideas that will enable us to create a sustainable society and corporation. We understand that only through the participation of all stakeholders can we sustain the practices that have made us successful in the past and will ensure our future. Neustar is committed to and energized by “giving back” – whenever and wherever possible.

To this end we pledge the following:

• We focus on improving our future via innovative, sustainable, solutions today.  We work together, as a team, to find solutions company-wide to create a better world for all of our stakeholders (customers, employees, shareholders and our communities).
• We act promptly and responsibly to correct incidents or conditions that endanger health, safety, and/or the environment.  In so doing, we remain an environmentally conscious and responsible organization in the communities where we do business and the world at large.
• We mandate energy conservation, recycling, and efficiency throughout our facilities.  In addition, we give preference to renewable energy sources whenever feasible, retrofit our facilities or build new facilities that are energy efficient and healthy. We measure and constantly improve the impact of our products and their byproducts. All facilities will recycle with a goal of 100% of our locations recycling 100% of applicable material.
• We utilize technology and policy within our organization to reduce energy waste.  Examples include the use of automated meeting room sensors and timers set to control lighting; automated, time-controlled temperature gauges throughout our offices; electronic records; and a heavy emphasis on web conferencing and videoconferencing to reduce travel and minimize “carbon footprints.”
• We aggressively conserve natural resources.  Neustar closely monitors electricity, water, and gas usage. We look for ways to reduce consumption. We print double-sided, recycle many types of materials (from paper to glass to older electronics), and purchase renewable materials when possible. To cite just a few examples: each work space has a recycling bin (where applicable); paper shredding services eliminate out-of date and sensitive documents cleanly and safely; and we use of green cleaning products in all of our facilities.
• We live in, care about, and are involved with our communities.  Neustar’s hundreds of employees are located throughout the world. Volunteering and improving our communities is important to our culture. We are actively involved in official and unofficial charities from charitable giving via Common Short Codes to Race for the Cure to saving endangered Coral Reefs.
