Our Rules Engine has expert rule based detection capabilities built in with a user friendly GUI for configuration. This powerful Rules Engine allows fraud managers to build another sophisticated and adaptive layer of protection against evolving fraud types. The Rules Engine provides the user the ability to build complex rules for many scenarios and offers you the ability to perform a thorough evaluation of all purchased “Events” that are sent to the system (i.e. Call Detail Records, downloads, Pay-Per-View Video, etc.) Once the event data is acquired and stored, analysis is performed in real-time to evaluate the possibility of risk or fraud on both a transaction and subscriber level on an ongoing basis at multiple levels to detect different situations. The tool combines attributes of the transaction with attributes of the subscriber to present a robust analysis of the events. By combining these attributes, things like credit limits or business versus consumer thresholding can be accomplished. Profiler

Neustar’s Profiling Engine enables you to identify when individual subscribers deviate from their established, normal behavior pattern. The system creates a unique usage profile per subscriber and presents alerts when deviations occur, significantly improving the accuracy and effectiveness of your overall alerting strategy. These alerts are often the earliest sign of potential fraud conditions and because they are unique to the individual subscriber, they can be one of the most effective ways of alerting to potential threats (i.e. hacking, subscription fraud, etc)

Fingerprinting

Neustar’s Fingerprinting engine correlates subscriber purchases to patterns of historical fraud cases and offers you a unique and powerful tool in the fight against identity theft and repeat fraud. By analyzing the behavior of past offenders, you can see whether current subscribers are headed down the same potentially fraudulent path. Once a confirmed case of fraud has been identified, the top events purchased by that subscriber are stored in a “finger print” database. All subsequent events processed by the system are then compared against the finger print database and will alert if additional subscribers are purchasing these same events which is often an early warning sign of potential identity theft or repeat fraud.
