Aliasing is a technique that identifies subscriber behavior and helps in tracking possible fraud and bad debt. Delinquent subscriber details are matched with the current subscriber details and any similarity between the information can lead to fraud tracking. Aliasing involves comparison of the subscriber credentials with delinquent subscribers for possible associations and is performed on attributes such as address, name, tax-id, driving license, bank account and so on.
Aliasing Comparison Techniques: Aliasing checks are done by using various complex string comparison algorithms at the back-end for tracking instances of subscription fraud. To facilitate comparison, individual customer credentials are clubbed into a single ‘group’. (i.e. attributes such as Address 1, Address 2, City, State etc. are a part of one group, that is, Address)
